Trail Politics

Over the last few weeks we have renamed some of our classic trail obstacles after the 08 political hopefuls. Some include:

* The Mike HUCKabee Rock, which would take a lot of faith to ride off of. It is always showered in rays of divine sunlight. Kinda creepy. * The John McCANE CREEK rock / stream crossing. Very rigid and tough to handle. Set in its ways. It is located right below the glowing light of the huckabee rock. * The HILLary is the massive climb on our Gypsy Moth trail that only a handful of us have ever successfully ascended in over a decade. A real bitch. * The BaROCK Obama is new temporary name for the Chinese Wall at the Middlesex trails. A really inspirational trail feature.

I just placed an order for 3 sets of Nokian Extreme 294 studded mountain bike tires. Bikeman has them in stock @ $69/each. Good price. Good availability -- these things can be a bitch to find locally. Shipping ground out of Maine puts them in your hand in about a day. Don't hang your bike up this winter!!

BS in Computer Science.

My graduation ceremony was this past Sunday. I have a 3-month old beard in the works and I looked very Jewish. Actually classes won't be done for another few weeks (so anticlimactic).

Stay in school kids or it could take you 7 1/2 years and 4 colleges just like me.

I went to have my Manitou Skareb Super rebuilt and it was a pretty botched job. Whats worse is that no one anywhere seems to be able to get in touch with Manitou for parts since they were recently relocated to Wisconsin after being picked up by Hayes. I'm potentially looking for a new fork but there are just too many options out there. I'd like to stick with Manitou but I forsee problems since their chief staff didn't relocate. Fox Forx are always nice but super expensive. Any thoughts? Looking for 80 mm lightweight XC fork.

So that I don't get nasty phone calls about some of the posts on this site -- which you're all of course more than entitled to make -- maybe you can leave your phone # or for someway to Fetish to get in touch with you if you have a gripe. No guarantee that it will happen but it wouldn't hurt, and it keeps me out of it. I have enough stress in my life already. I haven't had to contact them in a while about anything but when I have I've never really experienced some of the problems described here. Rant away but be constructive with it.
