About Me

Bikes make me very happy. I don’t race and I don’t try to be the coolest guy on the road or the mountain. I do it for me; ultimately that’s all that matters.

I'd give up beer. I have maybe a drink a week these days. Then running. At the moment, cycling and crossfit are equal. And yeah, I should be banished from the site, but I run this show. Plus Andy sells too many bikes. Needs to start riding them if you ask me.

I'm planning, pretty much, a tribute to bike culture...not sure excactly what. I'm having a guy design it and I'm actualy going to have my first consultation with him on Wed. I kind of want 9 cogs going down my spine as the central focal point, but we'll see what he comes up with too. I think I'll post up the tat design when I get it to get some feedback from everyone here too. As for the saturday ride, it might depend on what goes down the friday night I fly in...we have some crazy friends and I haven't gone out in NYC in a long time, haha. I'll definatly keep you updated. If anything, we should meet up for a post ride brew.

That's great, congratulations on being so successful with the new move. Targeting only a few special races for this year (rather than two within one week) sounds like a good idea too. Things here are steady, and although I don't exactly know what that means yet, I have a feeling that 2007 is going to be a good year for me, with or without that tapeworm plan I had mentioned in my blog. The pineapple will fall from the tree...Hey, are you looking for any new employees? keep me in mind, ok?

Heyo! After a long time off, I'm merging RideFetish and PedalSpace into a single project. I've done a lot of updates here as of last night (9/30), so if you have a minute, test the site out. Once I'm happy with the software, I'll spin off Pedalspace with it's own layouts/graphics (and yet keep the user base -- so changes will reflect on both sites.)

Yep, just one week left really. summer is dead, long live summer. So, yeah, to answer the second question, well things have certainly been better for me than they are right now, but for serious, we should leave it at that though, especially seeing as they are my problems and that they are completely unrelated to cycling. Things'll get better, they always do, eventually. Keep up all the good work with training for the marathon's and halfs. Later, Adam. -dg

That's really generous of you to offer - I have a fixed cog currently on the drive side and a freewheel on the other. The bike is for training. Set up 44t/16t because of all the hills out here; there is a great 25 mile loop with a lot of climbing (and of course descending). Thanks for offering the hub!!!
Left by wesley124 on February 01, 2006

Hay you should make your position a fixed gear, especially if you want to use it for training, I would recommend keeping at least the front brake if not both until you are used to it. If you don't have one already I would say lace a flip flop hub up so you can run both, gearing is tricky I cruise around town on 48/16 which is fine fixed just kinda hard to skid, racing I run generally 48-53, and the rear could be anything depends on the event. Infact if you know your spacing I might have an old flip flop hub lying around, let me know and I'll check. I will gladdly send it to you, If I not gettin any use some one should you would just need to lace it in to a rim. Not to mention fixed is great for training, cause you can't be lazy and coast, it will also improve your bike handeling.

ok first i want answer your question about the free wheel. yes you can run a free wheel on a track frame but with out brakes your nuts...also suzie max and phil make a flip-flop hub free wheel on one side and fixed on the other.. About your blog i like the skid compition pictures. On Coney Island every year we have a skid compition here or what ever my spelling is weak..we skid out and also have a track stand comp. where you try to stand still on the bike and after ever min you remove and extrmeidy till you are just sitting on the seat.. My boy Void flip over the handle bars in the the comp.. full speed and messed him self up baddddd.. be carefull i can skid over 70 feet and stand at ever red light in the city that is when i catch one... if you go brake less its much cleaner ride yourr one wit the bike and flow.make shure if you start gear it at a proper ratio..then build up to the sick speed or unless you jumpp on a veledrome...LatZ
