Got a link to your zine?
Left by Adam on February 14, 2008
It’s all ego to think anyone cares but here’s an update:
Lost job that allowed time to read/write/ride
Enjoyed unemployment to the fullest –traveled, put out a zine, etc
Pure joy
Roommate’s chainsmoking cokehead alcoholic gf moved onto our couch
Depression ensues
Self loathing
New job/apartment/etc
Glimmer of hope
New zine/stories to follow
Ps
Despite the fall of pridefc, mma has an incredible year

Hey, get back here. I need you to write another winter-inspired blog. They're good...and fit the mood of the season.

Up next......Dan Henderson. Should be good. I was reading about Tito Ortiz this morning. He bet against Jackson in Vegas in the title fight. They were supposed to be good friends. He also said about fighting Rampage "I wouldn't want to take food off his table". Man, he'd better watch it I'm thinking. He also says he wants to fight Shogun. He seems to be writing checks with an unkown bank account. I used to be kind of a Tito fan, but he sure seems to be acting irrational lately.

Have you received your seat yet??

you are right about wearing the wraps - even if they are a pain in the ass sometimes to keep clean and put on, but getting injured would suck. I seriously have to make it a point to wear them every time, and not just sometimes like I have been doing.

Great Blog!! It's kind of funny, but contrary to the somewhat negative start, you put a really positive spin on winter riding. It actually made me want to go out and ride in the snow again. I always look forward to reading your posts...good work, ride on.

i wouldnt say that they are trying to steal the spotlight, just provide an altenative. if you are a fan of MMA its cool to have another alternative even if you're not gonna see any fighters of Fedors, Sakarabas, Ortizs, or Hughess caliber. the fighters aren't really of the same level of Pride or UFC so i guess the term minor league might be appropriate. its kinda like college football vs NFL. UFC is great but the match ups are generally poor, the crowd is horrible, and PPV's arent that cheap. the IFL is interesting in that it takes MMA, which is a solo sport, and creates a team atmosphere where teams of fighters face off -like HighSchool/Collegiate Wrestling. It has good production, commentators, etc. the fights are exciting plus the coaches are all lengends -Frank and Ken Shamrock, Bas Rutan, Pat Militech, Renzo Gracie, Carlos Newton. A lot of times the coaches end up fighting as fell Renzo vs Carlos, Renzo Vs Militech, etc.

Have you heard of this IFL before? Is it trying to steal the spotlight from the UFC, or is it like the minor leagues? They have teams and matches...I am thinking that it might not be around for that long...

Can you send me your address and seat choice again? They're gonna ship this week. Sorry for the delay. adam@ridefetish.com

agreed. The UFC seems like they try and protect their beltholders. It sucks that they are feeding Gonzaga to Silvia. with time, he could have been a force. i'd so much rather see Heath Herring, Brandon Vera, or Cro Cop strip him of the belt. Fedor in UFC would be incredible.
Very excited that UFC 68 is in Ohio. Now i've got to decide between a new bike, college, or UFC tickets.

I agree. Can't wait until Feb 3. Cro Cop too! Should be pretty exciting. Tim Silvia's days are numbered as well. Now if they could just get Fedor.

http://fetishcycles.com/parts/index.html - They've updated their seat list. Choose one from the first three groups (I ride the third one down, in red) and let me know.

I’m not sure if it’s his getting religion or some of his losses, but Rampage is not the same fighter he was the first time they squared off. It’s blasphemous to say, but religion tends to have a negative effect -think Angel Manfreddy. From what I understand, Jackson’s confidence has been pretty shaken by fighting Pride’s best, namely Wanderlei Silva. Conversely, since Pride’s b list fighters (think Anderson silva) can completely demolish UFC’s A list, and Jackson has been able to compete with Randleman, Igor V, Arona, both Rua‘s, Wanderlei, Sakaraba, etc so it stand to reason that he will compete if not dominate the UFC.
Chuck is a devastating striker and has amazing takedown defense but he’s only fought rubber matches for the last 2+ years. Moreover, Jackson completely crushed him in their first fight. Absolutely, completely and thoroughly crushed him. Even worse than Couture did the first time. But, every time Chuck has been beaten, he's learned, adapted and overcome in the rematch.
Other factors -
Pride fights 10 minute rounds and the first time they met Chuck gassed out. Jackson should be able to keep a busier pace, as he is used to longer rounds. On the flipside, faster isn’t always better cause if you make one mistake with Chuck its lights out.
Also, Jackson is used to the ring, chuck the cage. But, I think the cage is better for Rampages style.
And, Chuck is getting up there in years…
My prediction:
War Rampage!
What about you?

Hey, it'd be cool if you could get camera-phone pictures for the rest of your bikes too. Your blogs have been great, by the way. Some of the best writing I've read on here.
