Well I reached a few more goals again for 2007. After losing 50 lbs from Dec.- May 07. I have started racing again in Michigan. Last Year Was my 1st year of racing in beginner Clydesdale, and I finished as series champion in NORBA and 2nd in time trial. This last Saturday was the second TT race for the year in Michigan and I raced Sport 30-34, and sport/beginner single speed. I placed 3rd in the 30-34 class. And I took 2nd in the single speed class. This has been a lot of fun!!!!

Well it has been a cold winter in MI. But I was able to get some single track in at least once a week up until about 2 1/2 weeks ago. The conditions are starting to get unpredictable, so I have been hitting the trainer. Last year I took 1st place in beginner clydesdales for NORBA. So my goal this year was to race Sport in my age group 30-34, and do it under 200lbs. I was 233lbs on Dec. 11th and now I am at 191lbs!!!! That a total of 42lbs! I did it all by riding and the South Beach Diet and I feel great. I also purchased a new Redline Conquest Team CX Frame and built it up already. This is a bad ass bike. I will try to post up some pics soon. As for the old Redline Conquest frame, I might sell it or build it up as a CX SS with a track bar. I am in the process of looking for a buyer for my Eddy Merckx road bike if anyone is interested check out my profile and drop a message.

Well about this time last year, I was looking at buying a Fixation Single Speed frame. So I put my bid in on E-bay, and a few days later it was on its way. My goal at the time was to buy something cheap but functional. You know, what a single speed should be — a “Frankenstein” bike. I already had all the hand me down parts from my previous single speed, so the work began. Since building it in the early winter months, I realized that this bike has become more than a winter project, it has become a canvas in which I am continually changing and finding new ways to express what I feel it means to ride a single speed. This is the first bike I have built from the bottom up, and I had no ideal how rewarding it could be. I have a lot more pride in knowing that I put the effort into making this a operational piece of machinery. And it is always a good feeling when someone comments on how cool the bike looks. As I continue to paint this canvas, there is one thing I will keep in mind. Its not how much money I invest into it, its how well it expresses what I feel a single speed should be.
