Looking for a little help here..

Desperate times are calling for desperate measures. I got a big sob story about how my landlord is a dick and I have to move out by the 1st. I don’t want to bore you, though.

It’s come down to me thinking about selling my bike, a 2005 Fetish Position track bike. A rough mental calculation tells me I’ve got about $1200 invested in it. Should I try to sell it outright and ask more than that? eBay it? Part it out?

This is my first time selling a bike. I hate to see it go, as it took nearly 6 months to gather parts. I assembled it myself, too.

Here’s the bike: http://ridefetish.com/bike/show/210

What would you do?

I’m not going to lie…it was a lot of work. Riding 49×15, I averaged 18-19mph from Tampa to Orlando (84.5 miles) with a really strong headwind (some said sustained winds of 20mph). Arriving at Sea World, I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. I took a two hour nap on the grass, ate dinner, and slept another 11 hours.

Sunday was a freakin’ cakewalk. Paced 23mph the whole way back to Tampa with a little wind on our backs. Every time I came back to my bike after a rest stop, I’d find four or five people standing by my bike with puzzled looks on their faces. The older folks said “Ah, I knew it’d be a young guy. His knees aren’t shot yet.”

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend!

So the MS 150 is coming up in Florida this weekend. I’m doing the entire ride from Tampa to Orlando and back. The idea is to raise MS awareness and raise money.

Call me crazy, but I’m doing this on my Fetish Position Fixie. Florida is flat as a pancake and I’ve ridden in excess of 60 miles at a time on my fixie.

If you’d like to help, you can make an ePledge to the National MS Society in my name by visiting the following link http://www.nationalmssociety.org//FLC/home/login.asp?m=e&wtr=1728209&pt=&d=FLC0EMS120060429WWT

Thanks in advance for your support!
