Hey! There’s no block to check for CYCLOCROSS!

I will admit, I’m pretty much a pure roadie. But, I do love riding my road bike in the dirt, discovering new ways to connect mountain roads by way of a fire road/hiking trail, etc. Cyclocross is also a passion of mine. I haven’t raced ‘cross in a couple years, but I love going out and bombing MTB trails on my CX’er. I have 2 cross bikes: Surly Karate Monkey (which is designed to be a 29er) and a new Fetish Position. I made some mods to adapt the ‘Monkey to my specific needs. It’s pretty trick…and a work in progress.

I race road quite a bit. I’m a Cat II, as it’s tough trying to nail down points in NorCal with all the pros that live/race around here. I race Masters, too. That ain’t no picnic either. Many world champs/nat’l/state champs live in my back yard. Since I’m getting a little “long in the tooth”, racing has taken a back seat to my career and just staying fit and healthy. I’m planning to go for a Nat’l Championships someday down the road…whether it be road, track or CX. Will see what the stars have aligned for me.
