What's new? How have you been dealing with the winter?

As far as shape is concerned... I used to do a lot of weight training... used to weight 235 pounds... One day I decided to train for cardio instead. I haven't lift a weight in 5 years...

All right... I'm back! It's been a while... I've been busy with work from the end of summer. I just started training again for my next marathon: Boston. I qualified in Quebec in August with a time of 3h13min (I'm 37...). I need to lose about 15 pounds in 10 weeks... Pffft...will not be easy! I'll try to do a decent time in Boston but I don't think I can match Quebec...

Considering your most recent picture and 10k times -- what else do you do to keep in shape? Any weight training?

You stop just like you would when you were riding a "big wheel" when you were a kid, just resist pedaling.....with hills it gets tricky. But I ride mostly on LBI, NJ which is totally flat, or upstate, in Geneva, NY which has rolling hills and country roads. As long as there isn't alot of traffic going brakeless is pretty safe. Those messengers in the big cities a crazy going without brakes! However most peoole who ride fixed opt for a front brake since you get a very direct feel for traction, and front brakes are more effective in stopping a bike than the rear brake.......just my 2cents.....

Keepin' in shape this winter?
Left by Adam on February 16, 2006
Well, I ride my bike on the trainer indoors and run a little. I try to train every time I can which is about every other day. I travel quite a biit because of my job and take care of my baby girl who's 3 month old. I'm gone to Europe for the next two weeks but I think that I'll be able to run quite a bit... It's always more fun to run somewhere you"'ve never run before... Bringing my bike is out of the question...

Am I? Cool! I'm trying to add my bike to my profile section but I get an error message when I hit submit. It says: Application error (Rails) What do I do?
