I intend to fit a set of Manitou R7 forks on Giantkiller in the next month. They have 80mm travel and the frame is designed around 100mm travel. Will this make a noticeable difference? Anyone else done this with advice for me? My calculations suggest I will save 850g by swapping from my Judy J2. Should make the thing even faster!!!

I don't think it would be a problem. I am running a 130mm Manitou Splice on my fixation and it totally rocks. In fact, I would say that it compensates for the HT and really smooths out the ride.

It shouldn't be a problem. I ran an 80mm on mine before I put the MX Comp on. It is a little more of an aggressive stance, which was nice for climbing.
