Tri
Posted by gauvinej on March 14, 2007

Well Tri training started yesterday. I really think I am going to drown on the swim part. Right now I am riding the SAC for training but am considering building up a nice Tri bike this summer. Anyone know what frame do they have the best deals on right now? Anyone reconmend some good clip on aero bars for now and a decent disk wheel that takes campi?

I just got a great book that was recommended to me more than one swimmer at the pool I have been going to. "Total Immersion: The Revolutionary Way to Swim Better, Faster and Easier" I just finished reading the first two chapters and lessons and am going to try the techniques tomorrow at the pool. I let you know if I stop feeling like that "fat man"

I know exactly what you mean about the swimming - I swim one lap and I 'm fighting for air like a fat man running up a flight of stairs. BUt you'll get it by sticking with it and you'll be kickin ass in the water in a couple months.

Adam or Eric can you help me get some info on the Tri frames that fetish has. Also if they have the Aerobars? They website no longer gives this sort of info on those frames nor can i get to the components section on their website.

Well I ran today and that wasn't too bad considering its been two years since i have done that. But the swim this evening was poor pain. I have no rhythm when i breath..yet. Then I used the kick board and now my legs are done.

Eric does Tris too... do several companies make clip-on bars?

Yeah the engine needs lots of work thats why I am starting now and I won't be doing the tri until like June or July. Dropping 30lbs is my first goal which is a huge one. But other than that I just want a pair of comfortable aero bars.

Focus first on the engine. You'll save time and money by improving your ability to utilize and process oxygen. A set of disk wheels won't do that for you. With that said, Fetish has some.... interesting Tri frames here: http://fetishcycles.com/road/index.html
