Took the Festish Fixation SS out today for a group ride in Wharton State Forest. Great place for a SS. We have been building and mapping miles of trail in Wharton. We have about 60 miles dedicated for mountaion biking. Its the largest state park east of the Mississippi.
Despite little elevation change and alot of sand, it is a great place for winter and wet riding. Plus, we have the Jersey Devil.
At any rate, I love my Fixation SS. I am looking forward to see the new FS Fetish. It just might replace my Ellsworth.
Best wishes for a happy New Year!

What about Hartshorne, Ringwood, or Chimney Rock? Are you guys talking about a ride for folks with Fixations only? Just singlespeeds?

Wharton extends across three counties in Southern New Jersey. You can access some info at http://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/wharton.html. The Jersey Action Riders (www.jerseyactionriders.org) has been working with the park for a year and a half now to establish mountain bike specific trails. The terrain and soil content make it difficuly. However, there are endless miles of undulating, serpentine trails that wander throughout the sandy pine barrens. The IMBA TCC was with is this fall and the work continues. As stated, its a decent winter and/or wet conditions place to ride.
We are planning to host the annual Jersey Off Road Bicycling Association meeting at Wharton in January to expose more people to the Wharton project.
It is certainly a good place to spin the SS.

Where is this place? Any of these maps online? Sounds like a good place for an East Coast Fixation Gathering.

I've passed through there a few times on the "Longest Day" (road ride). It is a terribly flat, long boring straight section on the road, but I'd love to bring a mountain bike down there and explore it. I'll drop you a line if you'd be interested in having a few North Jersey guys down to check out your trails. I also took the last '06 ride today on my Black Soul, a loop of lake hopatcong. Anazing winter we've been having for riding.
