Does anyone know where I can get long reach(at least 54mm) brake calipers for old style brake mounts(not the recessed kind)?

Nick, the R600 should work fine, they are definitely out there on ebay unless you want them new. I copied this Item description from one of the pages: "The Shimano R600 Road Caliper Brake features a reach of 47mm-57mm." (the R600 stuff is the same a Ultegra, so maybe there is a less expensive alternative out there, I don't know, but maybe this info above helps some.

Go to www.PedalPowerCT.com and e-mail them. Its a local shop that I work at part time and I'm sure we have one in our stash of cool stuff. I would go look for you, but I'll be out of town from tonight on.
