I have a friend that just got into Mountain biking. He first purchased a cheap $300.00 bike, that’s fine and dandy for people who just ride streets and canals but he hears me talk about the races and he want to try it. I say good lets go, his bike weighs 36 lbs and he broke stuff during his practice rides and more stuff when he raced. I told him that the bike was not made for the abuse he was putting it through and he needed to upgrade. he put it off till the bike was so bad he would spend more time fixing it then riding it. So what to do, I got him to put up some cash and he baught himself a Fetish D&S, he is riding so much better and faster now. we just had some minor problems with his drive chain but the good people at Airpark bikes are taking care of it. I took him to Prescott to pre-ride the next MBAA race course then we went and pre-rode some of the Whiskey 50 course, I initiated him into a hell ride, he was sooooo hurting. hahahahah! but it didn’t keep him form wanting to race so he signed up for the Whiskey 25.IEEEEEEEE! I told him I better not beat him (I’m doing the 50) or I get to keep his bike. Hahahahahah!
