track work 4-28-06

so i’m about to start a career in track cycling and i was wondering if the position track frame would be stiff enough as a sprint bike and a kilo bike. sure, it wont be as nice as the LOOK track bike(496?) but then again, i’m just starting so i’m on a budget. so until then, what can i do? i found the Mercier Kilo TT fully built for $350 including shipping. probably has some sad parts that wont last too long, but do you think it will get me thru a couple months of hard track riding? anyways, it doesnt seem to be a very stiff frame and its not very aero either, but aero isn’t my main concern. do you think that i can build up a fetish for under $500? i found the frame for $240 with shipping(can anyone find something better or hook me up?). $260 seems like very little for everything else. i found a 1 1/8 look carbon fork for $65. which reminds me, does the position frame accept a 1 1/8? or is it a 1 inch? thanks. which brings me to $200. how much is a track crankset worth? can i just use a road crankset and put a track ring on it? some people seem to have done that. that would put me back another $50 for a travative elita. $150 for a wheelset? flip flop rear would be preferred and sealed bearings on the hub are a must. i can build the wheels if needed, but i can’t seem to find the parts that cheap anyways so yea. any comments?

Here's a link to an ebay auction for a complete Position for $500 (impoossible to build one up new for that much) The trouble is that it is ending in 17 hours... http://cgi.ebay.com/Fetish-Track-Fixed-Gear-Bike-Complete-56cm-Black_W0QQitemZ7238472325QQcategoryZ98084QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
