Its been awhile since I’ve been around here but I figured you’d be the group to go to. A guy I work with is looking to build his own bike. It seems fetish is all but dead, so any other ideas on decent, new frames, at a good price? I saw Leader Bike out there but looking for a few more ideas.

Thanks
Eric

I just got burned on a cracked Fetish fixation on e-bay. Seller goes by the name lovemyfetishbike. No communication from seller for over two weeks. E-bay is guaranteeing refund but not on my return shipping. Wish I would have read these posts first. Would have bought Motobecane Outcast instead. Fully guaranteed. I havent been able to contact anyone . The box was shipped from Scottsdale but the seller wants me to return it to a different address. Seems kind of odd. I actually have a Leader 715 road bike that I bought about 6yrs. ago. I have been very happy with it. I've even raced it a few times. Unless you have alot of spare parts it is almost always cheaper buying a complete bike. And no compatability issues.

Douglas - High on my bike
I agree with Eric, especially if you want the manufacturer to stand behind their stuff. Plus, building up a bike is usually twice the price as buying a complete one. But if you really want to build something up from scratch I would try to find a good deal on a frame on e-bay or craigslist and start from there.

Forget building a bike... just buy a complete one new. Big names have good warranties too... Trek, Specialized, GT, Giant.
