Ok, so the other day I found a sweet trail right behind my house. It’s called the Coal Creek Trail and it’s a lot of fun so far. It’s a really wide (fire road wide) dirt path that has fun little single tracks that dip off the sides. I have ridden it twice this week so far, once on my single speed Fixation and once on my Soma. It’s definitely light enough to crank it out on a cross bike, which will be my next venture. I am still floored by the difference out here in Lafayette over Denver. The people are great, there were barely any people, other than a few out running or walking a dog, and the views…oh the glorious rocky mountain range is always in sight and just amazing. I can’t wait to keep exploring this new area and finding more rides. I think the biggest health factor so far has been air quality. Usually, when I would get back from riding in or around Denver, I would spend the next 1 -2 hours coughing, feeling like there was fiberglass in my lungs, out here, nothing. Even after a big-ring-top-gear-crank-fest with a buddy, nothing. Life is good, and progressively getting better. I finally got the riding “bug” back, it’s all I think about, it’s all I want to do. God I missed that.
