About
Update, 4/29/07
Replaced the 52t ring with a 44t to better handle the hills of San Francisco. As a bonus, the bottom bracket no longer creaks and the bike is much more responsive.

I read that you can tension in either direction. Pushing the chain up makes it wrap around the rear cog more. Just trying to get it figured out before I start buying.

Singulator skips sometimes on my setup... but I'm also running a 52/16 which is a bit much, even for flat ground. I built a bike for a friend almost exactly like mine, and his shop took out several links of the chain so it's not as long as mine and the singulator is closer to the frame. Not only does that look nicer, but it doesn't skip either. I'm going to rework my drive train soon. Either 52/18, or 44/18.

That's sweet. How's that singulator workin' for ya? i heard some mixed reviews on it. planing on switching my road bike to a single. Any insights?

52 I think... it's the big ring from a double.

How many teeth are you running on the 105?

Absolutely not. This is my commuter bike -- and I don't always want to have to wear bike shoes.

700C WEIGHT: Rear: 1128g, Front: 858g (http://velocityusa.com/wheels/road-deepvroad.php) The headset fits real tight, but I've only taken the bike out twice. I'll let you know how it all holds up over time.

Nice! How does the FSA headset fit? My Cane Creek is just a hair loose. What does your wheels weigh?

Beautiful!

Wheels, crank, handlebar, brakes, brake levers, and bottle cages are in the mail. They should be here by early next week. Then I'm having a friend help me aquire the last of the parts (drivetrain) and build it up. So, hopefully within two weeks.

What's the estimated time of completion? I look forward to seeing the finished product.
